Preventing Tragedy: Tips for Avoiding Accidentally Leaving Your Child in the Car

DO NOT PLACE THE BABY CAR SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER'S SEAT!

Place them behind the passenger seat or passenger seat in front so that it is in line with your sight.

ALWAYS MAKE IT A HABIT TO CHECK YOUR CAR CABIN BEFORE LOCKING AND LEAVING YOUR VEHICLE!

Make it a practice to check your vehicle, front and rear passenger seats before locking the vehicle.

BRING ALONG YOUR CHILD’S EXTRA TOY OR DOLL!

Place it in the front passenger seat when the child is placed in the child’s seat. Choose a large, brightly colored toy as a reminder of your child’s at the back.

PLACE YOUR CHILDREN'S ITEMS OR BAGS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT!

The concept is the same as the third tip, which is a reminder that your child is in a child’s seat placed in the back seat.

PLACE YOUR IMPORTANT ITEMS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AT THE BACK!

Place your important items such as bags, work tags, or office keys on the passenger side at the back.

PLACE ANY TAG, LABEL, OR STICKER OUTSIDE OF YOUR CAR!

This is to mark that you always bring your child in the car with a label that can be purchased or produced yourself.

ALWAYS ASK THE SCHOOL OR NURSERY TO CALL OR INFORM!

Ask them to call you if your child doesn’t arrive at the nursery within the time expected. You can also inform your partner to remind you, especially if there is a change in the routine of sending the child.

UTILIZE ANY PHONE, GADGET, OR APPLICATION!

You can use this method to warn about your child in the car. For example; ChildMinder SoftClip or the Kars 4 Kids Safety application. Or any free application that we can get from Google Apps.

ACTIVATE THE CHILD REMINDER SETTING

For users of the Waze navigation, you can choose to activate the Child Reminder setting that will remind you of the child in the back passenger seat, immediately after arriving at the destination.
